Lancor Coatings was founded in Ottawa over a decade ago by Manuel Landaeta — a painter who decided his craft was worth more than what anyone was willing to pay him. It’s been thriving ever since.
THE ORIGIN STORY
He Asked for a Raise. They Said No. He Built His Own Company.
Lancor Coatings was founded by Manuel Landaeta — Manny — a painter who had spent years perfecting his craft working for someone else. When he asked for a raise and was turned down, he made a decision that changed everything. He took his skills, his standards, and his reputation, and he went out on his own.
That was over a decade ago. What started as one man and a paint brush in Ottawa has grown into a team of 10 full-time professionals serving homeowners and businesses across the National Capital Region. The name Lancor comes from the first three letters of the family name — Landaeta — combined with Corp. It’s a family name on every truck, every crew shirt, and every finished wall.
Today Manny’s son Joshua — Josh — runs the business development and operations side of Lancor alongside his father. At 19, Josh brings the digital strategy, client systems, and growth vision that are taking Lancor from a respected Ottawa painting company to something much bigger.
